Friday Favourites - Eight

This week's favourites are a little bit later than usual, I know, I am sorry, but it's still Friday so technically the post isn't actually late, it's just...delayed.

This week has been pretty mental to say the least and I am sooooo glad it's the weekend. So glad.

I haven't got much planned (unlike last weekend that was far too busy for my liking) other than going to the gym, cooking nice food and celebrating Mother's Day with the Boyfriend's family (sorry Mum).

I'm looking forward to just chilling out and not having to be anywhere at a certain time for a certain thing that is boring in a certain way and that will lead my head to throb in a certain area. But positive thinking...even though the week has been less than stellar, I've still managed to rack quite a few favourites up...

Friday Breakfasts

Friday's are the best. Even though you have to work, you're more allowing, forgiving and relaxed about things without even realising it. One thing I love to enjoy on a Friday is breakfast from the office restaurant and a bought coffee.

Mon-Thurs I'll be good and bring a packed breakfast and lunch and stick with free machine coffee, but Friday is a different story. This morning's brekkie was the best I have had in a while, so it definitely deserves a spot on the favourites list! Berries were my own...I couldn't quite leave the house without prepping some form of food for the day ahead.

Green Protein Smoothies

I'm fully back on the green smoothie train, sans the banana and sugary fruits, of course.

In the morning I whack (technical term) the below ingredients into my blender with some ice and pop it in my bag to enjoy at work as I am reviewing my inbox...

- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter
- some nutmeg and cinnamon
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
- some milk (a random amount)
- some cold water
- ice if I have it

It's filling, healthy, quick and an easy way to ensure you start your day with some greens that are also yummy! Because no one wants to sit at their desk chowing down on spinach leaf after spinach leaf wondering if they look like Jessica Alba yet. Get a blender, drink your greens!

If you had asked me two months ago what my coffee of choice was I would have said a vanilla or gingerbread latte with skinny milk, hands down.

But that was two months ago when I was a sugar fiend living on the edge of life loving syrup-filled coffee. Now I am an adult who has learnt to enjoy the more bitter taste of a cappuccino. Classy.

This week has required lots of coffee. Boatloads of it in fact, so I thought the stuff deserved a shoutout for getting me through the past seven days. Plus I had a photo of a pretty one that I thought I might as well include #honestly.

Facetime with Grandparents

On Wednesday evening I was struck with a crippling guilt that I hadn't spoken to my Grandma or Grandad in a while.

I mean, the buggers had hardly been arguing over their handset of who was going to call me first, but I thought I might as well give them a bell.

It wasn't until I had already dialled their house phone and my grandad had picked up that I considered facetiming them. Grandma has an iPhone 6 plus, so I reckoned it would be quite funny to facetime her and hear the confusion for myself over the house phone line.

The result was a mixed phone call of facetime and house phone. Grandma held the iPhone, grandad had the house phone, I was on my laptop (which totally bloody confused them) and they couldn't figure out why I was laughing so much.

Lesson learnt: call them more often. Or facetime them more often. Just never at the same time.

Flowers from my Dad

I saw my Dad very briefly last Sunday when he came to see my new flat in London and then drive me out to Herts to the boyfriend's. Before he started the drive up North we stopped for some food and he randomly bought me flowers! I left the Boyfriend's on Monday morning to buds but arrived back tonight to fully open daffodils! Easter (chocolate) is coming!

Girls Night

Saturday last week was girls night. As in Zoe and I watched the rugby, did our make up, got drunk, saw some friends in London for a few hours and then drunkenly bought cookies and sandwiches from a Cafe Nero in Soho at 3am. A stellar night I will have you know, and one full with alcohol and hilarious Uber rides! I'm still recovering...as is the Uber driver from Zoe's shit chat.

Pic from the Net

As usual, I'm rounding this week's favourites off with a pic from the interweb. I saw this one on Instagram earlier in the week on my way to work and had to screenshot it. The boyfriend's response was 'haha that's me'. Just to confirm, it is not him in the slightest. He is deluded. But he does eat much more than me and spoils me occasionally, so he can have that one, sorta maybe kinda.

Hope you all have lovely weekends!

Hannah xx
